A sad tale…

After locking himself out of his house Mr Rutter was incensed by a row with his locksmith that he refused to pay him and climbed over his neighbour’s garden fence in a bid to break into his own home. If only he’d made a call to Leeds Locksmiths, this terrible tragedy could have been averted.  However, it is thought that he fell into the space between a shed and a tree. His body was not discovered for 10 days.

By the time his body was found, it was so badly decomposed that Mr Rutter was only identifiable from his Freedom Pass travel card, the inquest heard on Tuesday, February 22nd.  A neighbour spotted Mr Rutter lodged between the tree and the shed and called the police.  Another neighbour, Leila Tulani, told the inquest she had last seen him on October 26th – the day he locked himself out. She said: “I tried to help him out. I called a locksmith and he arrived at 8.30pm.  However, Ms. Talani said she was called outside by the locksmith who told her Mr Rutter was refusing to pay.   She said: “He said he was going to jump over her fence to get back into his house.  I tried my best to stop him but he did not listen. “He took a ladder from the wall
and jumped onto the table and I told him not to do it but he ignored
me.

I did not see him after that.  ” Dr Peter Wilkins, who undertook
the post-mortem examination, said Mr  Rutter had died of a combination of hypothermia and positional asphyxia, due to him being forced into a position which caused his lower organs to push on his lungs.

Thanksfully these things do not happen very often – but it’s just a sad tale sasy Gerard at Leeds Locksmiths
